Dave Snyder is someone you will probably never meet. He is the Superintendent of the Lakewood Country Club near Long Beach airport. Dave is a busy guy. He took time out of his busy schedule and provided us terrific meeting rooms at his facility for our February and March meetings.  Not only did we have great meeting rooms, but his staff provided us coffee, water, and great hospitality.

You see - Dave is partial to bluebirds. Over the years, he has managed golf courses all over Southern California. At every one - he made sure there were bluebird nest boxes along the fairways. Lakewood Country Club is no exception. He invited us to hang nest boxes 'all over the place.'

Meeting people like Dave Snyder is what makes our bluebird conservation effort so worthwhile. His humbleness, soft manner, and commitment to the bluebird recovery effort in Los Angeles County, causes all of us to pause and realize that one person can make a big difference.

Thank you Dave.

I'm retired in San Juan Capo next to the 12th hole on San J. Hills Golf C. Just read the OC Register article on Dick Purvis. I see Bluebirds in my backyard and would like to install and maintain a nestbox. Please advise.

Dan~ I monitor 11 bluebird boxes on the San Juan Hills GC. Many of them won't migrate from here in the winter time, why should they leave San Juan Hills? They have everything they need right here year around...I can meet you @ the Pro-shop next Thursday morn.to discuss bluebirds if you care to. Maybe around 8:AM? or any other time. Let me know.
