November Meeting

We held our November 2007 meeting yesterday in Irvine. There were 13 people in attendance including new members Ben Broderick and Damon Masaki (Agenda here - Minutes here). These meetings are so enjoyable. Sitting in the warm morning sun drinking great coffee with great people. If you have not attended one of our meetings - you are missing out on a terrific chance to savor in our worthy conservation efforts.

There is sense of real excitement among the members. We are about to establish a non-profit status through the IHC, and we are formalizing our effort to solicit golf courses throughout Southern CA to join us efforts. I would also like to see us increase our presence in primary and secondary schools. We receive many requests for assistance in placing nestboxes on school grounds and doing presentations.

To all our members - thanks for all you do. To those of you watching, but not participating, get out of the bleachers and onto the field!

I just finished reading the Fall 07 issue of Bluebirds Fly! What a great issue. Lots of human interest, and practical advice (like marking your trail with Google Earth-I love Google Earth). I think we in Southern California are very fortunate to have Mike Spohn not only doing the majority of the work to keep our So Cal BB Club going but also now have him take over editorship of the statewide newsletter. Thanks a lot Mike!
